Challenge

The elementary school required a comprehensive upgrade to their AV technology in both the training and huddle rooms. The primary objectives included:

  • Decommissioning existing AV equipment: All outdated equipment had to be removed, with asset tags and serial numbers recorded for review. The client would then decide whether to store or e-waste the items.
  • Upgrading AV systems: Installation of cutting-edge AV equipment to meet current standards and enhance usability.
  • Ensuring a safe environment: As the site was an active elementary school, extra care was required to ensure safety and minimize disruption.

Solution

We implemented a phased approach to execute a seamless upgrade for both rooms.

1. Site Survey & Planning

  • Conducted an initial site survey and planning meeting on Monday, December 2, 2024, with the client to finalize hardware locations and address design questions.
  • Reviewed provided IFC drawings, scope documents, and site photos to ensure alignment with project goals.

2. Decommissioning & Recording

  • Carefully removed all existing AV equipment from the training and huddle rooms.
